#ChartoftheDay: Finance, Works take 25.5% of Total Capital Expenditure

Of the N5.467 trillion approved for capital expenditure in the 2022 budget, the Ministry of Finance, Budget, and National Planning was awarded N941 billion. This makes up 17.21% of the total capital expenditure approved.

The ministry had the highest figure of capital expenditure approved to any MDA, and its figure is more than twice that of the Ministry of Works and Housing which is the second.

The Ministry of Works allocation stands at N450 billion in capital allocation. This shows that the ministry took 8.23% of the total capital expenditure.

The allocation to the Ministry of Power, Education, Agriculture, Health, and Defence stood between N205 billion and N300 billion. With the Ministry of Power taking N300 billion and the Ministry of Defence N205 billion.

The National Population Commission in preparation for the 2022 census was awarded N181 billion which is 3.31% of the total.
