#ChartoftheDay: Top 10 States with Low Incidences of Major Crimes

According to Business, Environment and Competitiveness Across Nigerian States (BECAN) IV, Imo State had the least incidence of major crimes in Nigeria with a 75% score. The other states on the list are Nasarawa state (73%), and then Anambra and Plateau state (69%), Zamfara (67%),  Kebbi (65%), Bauchi (60.4%), Jigawa (60.40%), Katsina (60%) and Kwara (60%).

Major crimes are defined in the report as including; robbery, murder, rape, assault, burglary and theft, arson, kidnapping of persons for ransom, terrorism, bombing, and vandalism

Data for this report is obtained from the nationwide published data for crime statistics during the period under review (2020).
